Democrats elected to Congress in 2006 caused the real estate meltdown of 2008. Believing that every American should own a home, they required lenders to make “sub-prime” (worthless) home loans.

Yes, conservative Christians are concerned about Obama’s views on abortion and homosexuality, and understand that Romney appears to share these concerns. But the conscience of many Christians will not allow them to vote for a Mormon. Like me, their vote will be for none of the above, or as Romney protester the Rev. Bill Keller has suggested, they might write in the name of Jesus on their ballots.

Come on Springfield, get with the program. I guess there isn’t enough profanity or negativity in the music. Seems to me that is what most people are listening to these days.

I attended Robberson from 1933 to 1939. Times were much tougher then than anyone has experienced in recent years, yet I don’t know of a student who failed to work his way out of those conditions and live a good life by doing for themselves.

Socialism has failed in every country that ever attempted to adopt it. The USA has succeeded, thus far, because we did not have such a ruinous form of government. Since that is the case, why are we letting so-called educators warp the minds of our children?

I hope this can be a wake-up call to the board of directors. Make the client the focal point of your business again. Without clients you will not make money. In fact, you will not exist. Weed out the morally bankrupt people, no matter how much money they make for the firm. And get the culture right again, so people want to work here for the right reasons. People who care only about making money will not sustain this firm — or the trust of its clients — for very much longer.

I think that the News-Leader, in a moment of non-thought, joined the ranks of those people that get thrills out of killing for the mere sake of displaying animals’ heads. I thought you might have researched the impact of these photos instead of applauding sports hunters that need to share their conquest with others who need to somehow use dead animals to celebrate Christmas.

These demonstrators want to make a difference with their lives. They hope to make their lives count for something bigger than themselves. They’re searching — but I don’t think they’ve found it.When you’ve been taught you are no different from an animal and you arrived on earth by an accident of nature, it’s difficult to find something meaningful to which you can devote your life. I say from experience after living most of my years that anyone who wants to get his own life on track as well as impact the world should investigate the Bible and who Jesus Christ is.
